About Business

Welcome to the dynamic world of the indoor skydiving business. The development and operation of a wind tunnel represents a relatively uncharted territory for many investors. This unfamiliarity arises from the distinct nature of the indoor skydiving industry. Over the past 5 years, this unique fusion of entertainment and sport has gained immense popularity, catalyzing the rapid expansion of the indoor skydiving sector. The business model revolves around constructing a wind tunnel and generating revenue through the sale of flight minutes.

Why Wind Tunnel Becomes an Attractive Business?

According to our estimates, until 2015, investors primarily focused on constructing large indoor skydiving complexes, often featuring substantial wind tunnels with common diameters of 4.3 meters. However, acquiring equipment for such a project carries a significant CAPEX. In addition to the cost of the wind tunnel, which can range from $3.5 to 7 million, there are expenses associated with design and construction work, as well as the costs of connecting to the electrical power grid(requiring approximately 2000 kW). In summary, the total cost of the project, ranging from $5 to 10 million, is too high for an easy start-up.

Positive Trend Change

In 2017, FreeFly Technology revolutionized the industry by introducing the world's first semi-pro FF300 wind tunnel with a 3-meter flight zone diameter. This indoor skydiving innovation transformed the market, offering smaller dimensions and reduced electrical energy requirements compared to the 4.3-meter alternatives. As a result, this wind tunnel became more accessible to entrepreneurs worldwide. The complete project's CAPEX amounted to less than $2 million. Numerous wind tunnel projects were established in proximity to shopping malls and entertainment parks. From 2018 to 2020, FreeFly Technology successfully executed 7 projects across the globe.

New Types of Wind Tunnel

By 2023, we have introduced a new model of the FF250 wind tunnel to the market. The concept behind this setup is to maximize accessibility and profitability for investors. Its compact dimensions allow for assembly as a standalone project or within an already operational shopping center or entertainment park. This compact wind tunnel requires a minimal electrical power capacity of 315kW. The total cost of implementing such a project can be up to 1 million dollars. Simultaneously, the price per minute of flight remains the same as in larger-diameter wind tunnels. This implies that the compact tunnel offers a quicker return on investment.

Wind Tunnel Purchase

What type of wind tunnel to choose and how to do it?

1. Determine the budget that will be comfortable for you.

2. Determine who you are opening the simulator for:
- FF250 is suitable for entertainment flights
- FF300 is suitable for entertainment flights and pro training
- FF430 is suitable for entertainment flights, pro and military training and competitions

3. Find a location suitable for the project with the possibility of obtaining an electrical connection and make a financial model.
